About H.L. Benson
H.L. Benson spent her childhood in rural Pennsylvania between the Elk and Brandywine River Valleys. She began painting in oils at age 12 and continues today from Historic New Castle, Delaware, beside the Delaware River. Her work is informed by the power of nature and greatly inspired by her time in coastal Maine and in the gardens of New Castle.
H.L. was a Fine Art and AP Art History master teacher who helped establish a renowned arts education tradition at Unionville High School in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Her work uses both common objects and nature forms as beautiful vehicles to convey stories, stimulate reflection, and inspire.
Series of works have included White-Pop, Seed Savers, and Landscape Arcks.
